HARMONY IN THE CLASSROOM: MUSICAL TECHNIQUES TO INTEGRATE INTO ELT CLASSES : ELT INNOVATIVE PEDAGOGY
Music can be a powerful teaching tool for all students. Whether it is used as a way to teach content or a way to keep students engaged in class, musical integration in the classroom has utility for all ELT educators. Music can improve the memory, brain development, and attention of students, and make them better communicators and collaborators. You do not have to be a professional musician to facilitate easy musical activities that students enjoy. This hands-on workshop will cover easy steps to make music-listening and music-making a part of your professional practice. Participants will briefly discuss the research surrounding music in the classroom and collaboratively discover applications to the ELT classroom. All musical skill levels are welcome and are encouraged to participate in this workshop!
