INTEGRATING STUDENT ACADEMIC SUPPORT INTO CURRICULUM DESIGN : CURRICULUM AND MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT

Student academic policies are highly relevant and important for students’ academic success at universities. However, there are some situations where students' insufficient knowledge about academic policies may lead to poor academic performance such as failure in assessment, non-progression, and even disqualification for degree awards. This presentation will use one case study to address this problem and give insight on how other universities can incorporate this practice in their curriculum design.

Liqun Pan has experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes as well as in working on University academic policies. Her research interests include lexicology, teaching pedagogy, and curriculum design.

Yan Wei has been teaching English since year 2006. Her academic interest ranges from EAP teaching to Overseas Chinese writings in English.
