TEACHING CULTURE IN A TRANSCULTURAL WORLD : CROSS-CULTURAL ISSUES
Learning about culture is one of the most interesting and exciting parts of learning English. With a diversity of world English cultures, how do we teach our students to navigate the places and situations where they will use English? Do we focus on the United Kingdom, the United States, or on the many other places around the globe that have an English language culture? In this workshop, we will discuss what biases we may have to different English language cultures, explore the different aspects of culture, and evaluate resources that are available to give our students a wide cultural view in their English language education.
